Maestro Riccardo Muti opens December 2 (19 hours), the new 2010/2011 season of the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome under the direction of Moїse et Pharaon ou Le Passage de la Mer Rouge Gioachino Rossini, the French edition of Rossini's masterpiece is the first ever performance in the capital. The new layout Pier'Alli bears the signature of the director, sets and costumes, outstanding choreography, his debut at the Rome Opera, Shen Wei, a prestigious name in the world of international dance, the choir is led by maestro Roberto Gabbiani, the lights are Guido Levi. On stage a highly prestigious ca st with Ildar Abdrazakov (Moïse), Nicola Alaimo (Pharaon), Eric Cutler (Amenophis), Juan Francisco Gatell (Eliezer), Riccardo Zanella (Osiris), Saverio Fiore (Aufidius), Sonia Ganassi (Sinaïde ) 2,5,7,9,11, 12 Surguladze Nino, Anna Kasyan (Anai) 2,7,9, 5,11,12 Erika Grimaldi, Barbara Castri (Marie), Fang-Yi Sheu (Étoile guest).
Particular attention will take the evening of November 30, at 19, which will see a preview gala Moïse et Pharaon, Rossini conducted by Riccardo Muti. It will be a charity event in support of Agenda Sant'Egidio, a non-profit organization, founded in July 2009 to
Rome, Maite Bulgari, which has as its purpose the support of all activities against poverty and 'assistance promoted by the Sant'Egidio Community.
Moïse et Pharaon will be repeated Sunday, December 5 (16:30), Tuesday, December 7 (19 hours), Thursday, Dec. 9 (hours 19), Saturday, December 11 (18 hours), Sunday, December 12 (16:30). The staging is proposed with sovratitoli in Italian.
Moïse et Pharaon Théȃtre debuted at L'Academie Royal de Musique in Paris in 1827, revising the model of French grand opera of the previous version Neapolitan Moses in Egypt (premiere, Teatro San Carlo March 5, 1818). In 1827 the first execution of Moses from Moїse was just in Rome, in concert (in a translation that you do not know the author) at the Accademia Filarmonica. L '; work in the Italian translation by Calisto Bassi arrived at Teatro Costanzi April 23, 1918.
