Goldwell Elumen Directions

friends of cescko

In my office as President, in the Conservatory, there is a picture that I care very much. It was taken a couple of years ago, the Academy of the United States, at the end of a percussion concert performed by an ensemble of young people of our Conservatory, directed by Antonio Caggiano. At the center of the photograph is a sacred cow of contemporary music, Steve Reich, visibly pleased with the quality of its songs, which are difficult but full of a mysterious charge that produces an almost hypnotic effect, then there's me and the Director of the Conservatoire D'Anto, and finally the main characters, bursting with energy and retain only the happiness of the event for which they were protagonists.

When the guys gave me the photo I framed and hung behind the desk to witness a moment of joy when I look at it today, I always find myself with a lump in my throat and sent back to the sadness fatigue. In the group, in fact, there's a guy that no longer exists. His face is still a child, with a strange haircut that made me look like a bird that is always putting the feathers first. His name is Francis Alviti, died less than a year after the shooting, for a disease just as quickly as cruel.

were evening, in a Ceccano square (full of people) who is under the window of his house, from which hung a banner for the occasion which is a portrait of him as he is (maybe) in front of a xylophone, the young students of percussion at the Conservatory, directed by two outstanding teachers of their classes, Carlo Di Blasi and Antonio Caggiano, have created an intense show, fun, playing those instruments which belonged to Francis and now have been donated by his parents at the Conservatory because other young people can learn and make them alive. The memorial

Francis Alviti lasts one week and this year has seen him perform about three hundred and fifty young artists, bands, orchestras, ensembles. Many of them have known Francis, many others do not, yet even these are friends that it continues even now that no longer exists, to make friends and to work so that his friends, thanks to him, meet other friends.
